There are tips in the post below for downloading procedures and options if you don’t have microsoft office.

You may have trouble opening the powerpoint, documents, etc if you have an older version of Microsoft Office.  Download the Microsoft Compatability Pack to view powerpoints & document wich the newer versions of Office.  

After you click on the blog link, you will see a dialog box that asks you if you want to save or open.  Click SAVE.  You may want to create a file on your computer called ISS so that you know where you are saving all of these powerpoints.

Open the powerpoint and in order to save paper & ink, follow these steps: 

1. So as to save your parents/schools ink, please remove all of the background features – just go to Format – Slide Design – and choose the “default design, which is a white background.
2. Click the print button under the File tab – a text box will appear
3. Select the “Slides” you need (example 2-15;17;19) or select “All” – keep in mind you may not need all of them all of the time – ask teacher if unsure
4. Go down to “Print what” and select “Handouts”
5. If you want to allow space for notes, change the “slides per page” to 3 instead of 6. This will give you lines to the right of each slide.  Keep in mind the more slides you print per page (9 is the largest), the more difficult they are to read.  You may also choose to do the “Outline View” if there are no important images in the powerpoint.
6. Again, to save ink (color ink is more expensive than black) be sure you have removed background designs to plain white and in the Print text box select “Black and white” for your “Color/Greyscale” selection.  

Both the student and the parent should sign.  This needs to be done by Thursday 9/3. Cut the bottom off and keep the top portion.  If you need an extra copy, please feel free to down load and print the ISS Syllabus  The course information is also on the ISS page of my website.

Physical Geography Book Assignment – Read chapters 23, 26, and 29.  Do vocab and ids for each section (see below for details).  If there are vocab words that we have done in the past, you do not need to do them again (as long as you know them!)  There should be 8 NEW Vocab words and 29 IDs total

• Chapter 23 do all vocab and IDs for both sections 23.1 & 23.2
• Chapter 26 do all 26.1 vocab but only typhoon in 26.2; only do IDs for 26.1
• Chapter 29 define cordillera in 29.1 (no vocab for 29.2); do IDs for 29.1 except for Annam Cordillera and Chao Phraya River (no IDs for 29.2)
